Red CentreNATS 08 Event Wrap!

Red CentreNATS 08 is all done and didn’t we have a ball in the centre! The weekend kicked off with Top Fuel Australia round one of season two on Friday, and it’s fair to say the nitro was shooting sky high. A packed crowd stood side by side all day long for plenty of racing, featuring top fuel, heavy hitters, grudge racing and more.

Saturday saw 700-plus cars jam the streets of Alice Springs for the street parade, with a packed-house once again pilling back into Alice Springs Inland Dragway for burnout qualifiers under lights! And didn’t we see some action with literally trailer loads of pro burnout cars making their way to RCN08 to smash tyres and entertain.

Sunday morning as always was tense with the road to grand champion kicking off at the drags, then motorkhana and finishing off with each competitor testing their driving skills on the grass course. Sunday afternoon saw burnout finalists locked and loaded as they blew set after set of tyres for the huge crowd. In the evening Nigel Warr was awarded Red CentreNATS 08 Grand Champ, while Robbie Cottrell took out first place in the burnouts - winning himself a Burnout Masters ticket for the big show at Summernats 35.

While all the above was taking place, mainstays such as the street cruising, 4wd course, show and shine and much more was taking place throughout the town, Lasseters and Blatherskite Park. With more than 1000 entrants it surely was a show to remember.
