MEGUIAR’S Superstars assembles Australia’s absolute best, super-elite show stoppers. None more so than Chris Bitmead’s incredible Falcon Coupe, XBOSS. Having won either gold or silver in every Meguiar’s Superstars category (which in itself is a mighty impressive effort), the wildly-modified blue and grey coupe understandably topped the judging sheets to take out the big one, Meguiar’s Superstars Grand Master – the top accolade on offer at Meguiar’s MotorEx. Congratulations Chris!
“While the main goal was to go to the states and make the great eight,” says Chris, “winning MotorEx was the number one, Australian award we wanted to win.”
With the car’s success in the US, there was huge expectations by many here in Australia, with Chris commenting that it was a big relief, as he’d finally achieved all the goals after so many years of hard work.
Even his fellow competitors were happy for XBOSS. “It was very nice of Kylie and Adam with Tail Spin along with the other competitors who came up and congratulated me,” says Chris. “We were very happy and excited.”
By we, Chris is referring to his build team. He openly admits XBOSS would never have reached the level it has, without his dedicated build team – who all headed out after presentation for a well-deserved celebratory dinner.
XBOSS is an incredible machine, which has acquitted itself extremely well on the world stage. Proving to the wider modified car community that Australia has some of the world’s finest craftsman, capable of building cars that can compete head-to-head with the very best of them. Again, congratulations to Chris and his build team.
