2016 STREET MACHINE SUMMERNATS GRAND CHAMPION
John Saad 1972 RX3

The very first ever Meguiar’s MotorEx Grand Master, has now added a Street Machine Summernats Grand Champion sword to his trophy cabinet. When John started on his House of Kolor Galaxy Gray FATRX3 in the mid 2000s, the goal was to build not only Australia’s best Mazda but Australia’s best elite show car – and with FATRX3’s name now engraved on the two biggest show car awards in the country, he can be confident its mission accomplished.

His Summernats 29 victory is even sweeter given Grand Champion was within his grasp at last year’s Summernats, unfortunately an alternator issue cruelly brought an end to his aspirations.

Down but not out, John and his close knit team came back fighting fit in 2016, taking out Top Judged Elite, second in the Slalom and first place in the Go-Whoa – proving FATRX3 is not only incredibly well constructed and well finished, it’s also exceptionally functional.
