Summernats 27 will have a display of some benchmark cars from the past. I realized if we didn’t get hold of these cars soon they would have disappeared or deteriorated to a state where they wouldn’t be worthy of showing. These cars were chosen as true benchmark cars of their era, Australia’s first real Street Machine, Graham Stubbs, Malibu Magic, Brian Willis’s HK Monaro, first with graphics underneath and brought the US trends to Australia.

There is also The First Pro Street Commodore built by Rob Beauchamp, Colin Thowsend’s Pro Touring FJ Holden which was built 15 years before Pro Touring became a category. On display will also be Brett Lewis’s HR Holden, mild custom with full period display. This should give the younger generations some understanding of where we have come from!
