Once again, a strong showing in the driving event has been the deciding factor in who gets to hoist the Grand Champion sword. Henry’s sweet-as-a-nut House Of Kolor ‘Kandy Red’ and white FB ‘OLD LOVE’ completed the Supercruise Grand Parade, placed third in the Saturday night’s Special Driving event and won Sunday’s Go-Whoa 360 Competition. These results secured the necessary points to place it at the top of the Summernats 27 Grand Champion leader board – Congratulations Henry!

It’s a fairy tail story behind this stunning streeter. It’s been part of the Parry family since his mum drove it home new from the Holden dealership. With many fond memories growing up around the FB, it has great sentimental value to the Nyngan-based framer. For many years it was Henry’s dream to honour his mum by rebuilding her beloved old Holden. However with the years relentlessly marching on and health issues looming, Henry decided to enlist The Chop Shop, Custom Bodyworks, Knights Panel Works and Stitched Up Interiors, to turn that dream into reality. “They’re all genuine nice people, says Henry, they’re all very skilled and I couldn’t be happier for them.”

By taking out Grand Champion, Henry’s dream has now become the stuff fairy tales are made of. And I for one cannot think of a more deserving winner. All hail the Champion. Unfortunately Henry was unable to make Summernats 27, with the award accepted by Danny Makdessi.
