This could be one of the coolest races out there, a 12-hour endurance race at the Twin Ring Motegi track in Japan, racing RWB Porsches. For some, a brief history of RWB may be in order, firstly it stands for Rauh-Welt Begriff. The company was started by Nakai-San (Akira Nakai) and stems from humble beginnings as a small countryside body-shop in Chiba-Ken. Now Nakai-Son’s radical styling are instantly recognisable and they just ooze presence and charact, even in a photograph. Which brings us to another reason that makes the Idlers 12-hour event so damn cool, they invite a bunch of respected photographers to come along and participate in the racing while they cover it.

This year event sponsors LiquiMoly even wrangled in director and cinematographer Luke Huxham to produce a four minute video covering event highlights. Watching these beautiful nostalgic Porsche’s with their gigantic yet somehow not obnoxious RWB bodies flow around the track certainly stirs your car-loving loins…
