A total of 4321 official participants along with a host of generous spectators raised much needed funds for the deserving kids of Camp Quality and their families in the 2016 season of MotorEx Cruise for Charity. Congratulations cruisers, you should all feel very proud.

Victoria maintained its status as the premier event with 1,956 participants. That said, New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania and South Australia all had incredibly strong turnouts. Western Australia was a standout performer, moving past NSW into the number two spot with an impressive 892 participants, to pip NSW who attracted 753 cruisers.

The Liqui-Moly Hunt for Horsepower was again a major drawcard, with special mention going to Townsville Mechanical Services who took out the national title for the third year in a row, with a blistering 1089rwhp from a customer’s street car – a VZ SS Commodore with a turbo, 440 LSX under the hood.

Not to be outdone, the smashing tyres burnout demonstrations, plus the huge Tread Cemetery competition in Victoria proved to be a massive hit. The charity auction of once-in-a-lifetime rides in tough burnout beasts produced a series of ear-to-ear smiles on the faces of the lucky winners and raised over $6000 just on its own.

None of these events would have been possible without the sea of invaluable yet often unappreciated volunteers. Thank you very much too all the Camp Quality, local community, club and event volunteers who put their all into making the 2016 season the success it was. MotorEx Cruise for Charity would also like to acknowledge and thank our invaluable sponsors; Autobarn, Meguiar’s, Liqui-Moly, Designer Wraps, American Legend Wheels, Turbosmart and Lowe Fabrications for their crucial support.

MotorEx Cruise for Charity is all about gathering like-minded enthusiasts together in a community-supported, family-friendly environment to socialise and raise money for sick kids. For these participants and the thousands of appreciative spectators, cars are much more than just a means of transport. Not only have they come together to share their automotive passion, the money they’ve raised will improve the lives of kids and their families living with cancer.

Bring on MotorEx Cruise for Charity 14, which will kick off in late 2017. Check the website for venues and dates in your state. See ya on the road cruisers!
