Kevin Dowse, a name many won’t know, but in the world of MotorEx Cruise for Charity this man is a legend. In fact he is the only person in the Cruise for Charity Hall of Fame, albeit more of a gallery than a hall.
From August 2012 to November 2012 Kev focused all his energy and strength to driving around Australia to attend EVERY Cruise for Charity event. That is right, Kev drove his Holden VE Commdore to Darwin, Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Hobart! The first person ever to attend every event in a vehicle in one year.
Not only did Kev do this phenomenal amount of driving, he donated a significant amount at every event, brought local and national sponsors along for the ride and most importantly made friends with people from every state at every event. Kev did what we strive to; bringing the modified car community together in the most perfect way. Through following his journey, meeting the man they call Big Kev the car community united for a great cause at an amazing event – raising money for sick children in Australia.
Three years on from his amazing journey, we are asking the question. Who will be the next to follow in his footsteps? What will you do to make a difference in the lives of these sick children?
We take our hat off to you Kev, you are a legend in our books.
