After the briefest of morning showers that helped settle the dust, the sun gods came out in force to create a gloriously sunny day for the massively-successful Cruise for Charity, Victoria. Held at the impressive Lardner Park motorsport facility, the event was buzzing all day thanks to the 1798 participating vehicles, which helped to raise a total of $76,626.25 – which will make a big difference to the lives of the Camp Quality kids.
With so many vehicles in attendance, both meet points (Cranbourne and Williams Landing) were a sea of glittering streeters, complete with a host of passengers all eager for the cruise to Lardner.
On site, the event’s intensity heated up almost as much as the Mercury – which peaked in the 30s. There was a record 97 VIPs taking centre stage, while the Smashing Tyres burnout exhibition was a massive crowd favourite, especially those involved in the charity auction for a once-in-a-lifetime ride in one of the several extreme burnout beasts – with MRBADQ attracting the highest bid of $500.
The dyno also wowed the crowd, which is understandable given the 800rwhp-plus runs from eventual winner, Con, C&A Auto Fashion, in his turbo Commodore, VF PSI. Stay tuned for a full run down on all the trophy winners.
As always, the event would not have been the huge success it was, without our invaluable team of tirelessly-working and ever-enthusiastic volunteers – a huge thanks to all you guys. Also, the presence of our loyal traders; Wall Street Kustoms, Monstr Clothing and Universal Kustoms, greatly added to the day’s great, family-friendly vibe – awesome job!
