The Sutherland Shire suburb of Kurnell is better known as the birthplace of modern Australia. However, come February each year, it plays host to the Kurnell Nationals Car and Bike Show. Held at Marton Park, this great event is put on by the NSW Streeters Club.
The 2014 Nationals attracted a host of spectators along with 344 stunning-looking cars and bikes – including 10 past Summernats Meguiar’s Top 60 finalists! There were 62 trophy’s awards on offer, with first place categories receiving a Meguiar’s product prize pack along with a pizza voucher from event sponsor, Pizza’s with Muscle.
Event organiser, Matt Symons, said that as this year’s show was so well attended, roads into the park had to be closed to traffic at 10.30am. He also commented that it is pleasing to also see a lot of older, factory-built, cars attending this year’s show. As this makes the show more varied and more colourful for all the spectators that came out to view the spectacle – there was something for everyone regardless of your automotive persuasion.
Kurnell Nationals is not all just cars, other highlights included; kids’ activities and rides, as well as trade and food stalls. All of which making this friendly show a fun-filled day out for all the family.
Stick it into your calendar for 2015.
